Running sum — the dekatrons count
demo Open · freely redistributable
An original paper-tape program for the Harwell Dekatron Computer. Each pass adds the next integer to a running total, so the SUM register visibly counts up through its dekatron tubes — units rolling 9→0 and rippling a carry into the next tube, exactly as decimal addition works on the real machine. No CPU, no ROM: a from-scratch model of the dekatron store and the paper-tape reader.
