Sinistar

game Grey · copyright, community-distributed

Sinistar (Williams, 1982) has you mine crystals to build sinibombs while the planet-destroying Sinistar assembles from the debris and hunts you down, taunting in digitised speech ("Beware, I live!", "I hunger!", "Run! Run! Run!"). It runs on the Williams 6809 board with the SC1 "special chip" blitter (window-clipped at $7400), a 49-way analog joystick, and a sound board that adds an HC55516 CVSD chip for the speech. These are the original rev.3 program ROMs plus the CVSD speech ROMs, all SHA1-verified against MAME and hosted on the same grey-area preservation basis as the other arcade builds.
