Scramble (Konami, 1981; licensed to Stern Electronics in the US) is the arcade game that defined the horizontally-scrolling shooter. The player flies a jet through six distinct terrains — over mountains, through a cavern and into a fortified base — managing a steadily draining fuel gauge while firing forward and bombing downward. These are the original Zilog Z80 program ROMs; they remain the copyright of Konami and are hosted here on a grey-area preservation basis.
