Q*bert
game Grey · copyright, community-distributed
Q*bert (Gottlieb, 1982), designed by Warren Davis and Jeff Lee, is one of the defining games of the golden age: the player hops a round orange creature across a pyramid of cubes, changing every cube to a target colour while dodging Coily the snake, Ugg, Wrong-Way and the bouncing balls. It runs on Gottlieb System 1 hardware — unusually, an Intel 8088. These are the original program and graphics ROMs; they remain the copyright of their owner and are hosted here on a grey-area preservation basis.
