A tiny hand-written Z80 program for the Sega Game Gear, authored for emulators.org and released into the public domain. It brings the Mode-4 VDP up to a visible state, paints the whole screen red by writing colour-RAM entry 0, then programs the SN76489 PSG through port 0x7F — exactly as on the Master System, since the Game Gear is SMS hardware in a handheld shell — to play a short ascending four-note loop (C5-E5-G5-C6) on tone channel 0 at full volume. It drives the sound chip directly, so it plays as soon as the Sound button un-mutes it. A clean, readable debugger target: single-step the Z80 through the PSG writes, or watchpoint the note table.
