Centipede

game Grey · copyright, community-distributed

Centipede (Atari, 1981), designed by Ed Logg and Dona Bailey, is the trackball shooter in which the player defends a mushroom field against a descending centipede that splits into fragments when shot, alongside spiders, fleas and scorpions. This is the original Atari 6502 program and character ROM set (MAME "centiped", revision 3); the ROMs remain the copyright of Atari and are hosted here on a grey-area preservation basis.
