The Calliope mini (Calliope, 2017) is a German educational board and a close cousin of the BBC micro:bit v1, built on the Nordic nRF51822: a 16MHz ARM Cortex-M0 with a 5x5 red LED matrix, A and B buttons, an on-board WS2812 RGB LED, a BMX055 accelerometer and, its headline feature, an on-board loudspeaker. Here it boots real bare-metal programs on this site's own ARM core, driving the real on-chip peripherals. Open the debugger to single-step real Thumb instructions. It makes real sound: click the Sound button to unmute.

Runs real bare-metal Calliope mini programs on an in-browser Nordic nRF51822 (ARM Cortex-M0) — the German education board that is a close cousin of the BBC micro:bit v1. The default "Matrix Animation" pulses a heart on the real 5x5 LED matrix (decoded from the actual 3x9 GPIO multiplex, wired exactly like the micro:bit v1). "RGB Colour Cycle" walks the hue on the on-board WS2812 RGB LED (P0.18), which the board decodes from the real bit-banged one-wire waveform. "Buzzer Melody" plays "Alle meine Entchen" on the on-board loudspeaker — the Calliope's headline over the micro:bit v1: it makes real SOUND. The tone is produced the real nRF51 way (TIMER2 drives a GPIOTE toggle task on the speaker pin through a PPI channel); click the Sound button to unmute. "Buttons" shows a face and chirps the speaker on A (P0.17) / B (P0.16). ALL on-screen controls — A/B buttons, the tilt D-pad and Shake/Flat — live in the shared debugger's Controller input panel.
