Advanced Mac Substitute (AMS) by Josh Juran runs pre-System 7 Macintosh applications by emulating only the 680x0 processor and replacing the Mac OS and Toolbox with its own libraries, so programs launch without an Apple ROM. The backend runs on any POSIX-like system, with SDL2, macOS, X11 and Linux framebuffer frontends plus a WebAssembly browser build.
